Legislation recently introduced by Rep. Aaron Bernstine (R-Lawrence) seeks to limit the amount of life insurance due to beneficiaries of terrorist policyholders and provide some compensation to victims out of the proceeds of those same life insurance benefits.

Auditor General to begin audit of Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission

Auditor General Eugene DePasquale announced Wednesday that his office will soon start an audit of the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission.

 

It will be the office’s second look at the commission in the last five years and will cover a period from June 2015 through May 2017 and will assess the performance, procedures, operating and capital budgets, debt and accounts of the Turnpike Commission.

DEP suspends Mariner East II pipeline project

The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection Wednesday announced it has suspended Sunoco’s permit to build out the Mariner East II pipeline after repeated violations following the restart of the project in August following a prior temporary suspension.

 

According to the order, issued by DEP on Wednesday, the suspension will last until Sunoco can prove to DEP that it has implemented policies to remedy permit violations.

State collects $2.8 billion in December General Fund revenues

The Pennsylvania Department of Revenue and the Independent Fiscal Office each reported this week that state General Fund revenue collections for the month of December rang in at around $2.8 billion.

 

However, that’s where it appears agreement stops between two of the Commonwealth’s top fiscal forecasters.
