An amended version of House Bill 2071 passed the House Monday by a final vote of 164-18. Sponsored by Rep. Todd Stephens (R-Montgomery), the bill focuses on methods of helping businesses and workers prevent potential workplace violence.

Municipal ID cards pass Philly council

City Council Thursday passed a bill that authorizes Philadelphia to provide municipal IDs for residents.

Philadelphia joins New York and Chicago as major municipalities creating identification cards for their citizens. The bill passed through the Licenses and Inspections Committee last week and earned unanimous approval from the council.

The city is seeking to help undocumented individuals, particularly youth and immigrants, to secure identity with residency and avoid potential confrontation.

Each speaker who took the stage at the Dell Music Center in Fairmount Park Friday emphasized the importance of the upcoming election. Even the former president who 10 years ago made history agreed with the candidates. 

John Fetterman, the  lieutenant governor on the Democratic ticket, told the gathered supporters, “This is the most important election in Pennsylvania.”
