Gov. Tom Wolf announced in January that he plans to update Pennsylvania’s overtime rules to increase the pay of nearly half a million employees in the state. Employees and employers currently have until August 22 to send in suggestions or comments about this possible change.

Budget bill with no tax increases, increased school spending put on fast track

The House Appropriations Committee voted unanimously Tuesday to advance a $32.7 billion 2018-19 budget in what lawmakers hope will start a swift march to finish it ahead of the state’s traditional June 30 deadline.

House Majority Leader Dave Reed (R-Indiana) said he expected a final floor vote on the bill Wednesday before sending it to the Senate.
