Pittsburgh City Controller audits city’s purchases

Pittsburgh Controller Michael Lamb released a performance audit of the city’s Office of Management and Budget’s Bureau of Procurement on Thursday afternoon. 

Within the city the Bureau of Procurement is responsible for soliciting bids from venders and awarding contracts to acquire goods and services for city departments. In the audit of the years 2016-2018 after reviewing processes, procedures, and policies for contracts Lamb’s office found that overall the bureau had made strides in some areas. However, in other areas they continue raising eyebrows.
