Democratic lawmakers call for expansion of indoor smoking standards

A decade since the enactment of the Clean Indoor Air Act, Allegheny County lawmakers came together to celebrate the law’s passage and call on their colleagues to increase the law’s authority.

When first implemented, the law forbade smoking in public areas, but allows for exceptions — too many as far as some elected officials are concerned.

“This is a matter of fairness,” Rep Dan Frankel (D-Allegheny) said. “We know the law works, but let’s make it work for everyone.”

Strike out hunger at the Capitol All Star game

This year, on September 24th at 5:30 p.m. at FNB field on City Island, your Pennsylvania State legislators will be playing in 2018's Capitol All Star game.

The game, which is sponsored by Pennsylvania Legislative Services and Wilson500, Inc., has raised nearly $100,000 to date for the state’s two food security organizations – Hunger-Free Pennsylvania and Feeding Pennsylvania.

So come watch your legislators and help strike out hunger!
