Wolf calls for passage of severance tax to fund ‘Restore Pennsylvania’ plan, but not all lawmakers are on board

Gov. Tom Wolf was joined by state and local lawmakers Wednesday to advocate for his “Restore Pennsylvania” plan, a $4.5 billion proposal that would fund a series of “high-impact” projects through revenue generated from a severance tax on the extraction of natural gas. 

Wolf’s plan aspires to tackle a number of projects, including rural broadband internet access, storm preparedness, blight and lead remediation, as well as various infrastructure and transportation-related initiatives.

Wonderling pitches ‘Grow Pennsylvania’ agenda at press club luncheon

Rob Wonderling, a former state senator and current president of the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia, stressed the importance of growing Pennsylvania’s population, an in turn, its economy, during Monday’s monthly Pennsylvania Press Club luncheon.

 

Wonderling used the forum to pitch the chamber’s “Grow Pennsylvania” agenda, which focuses on growing the state’s population while also making it an attractive place for business, entrepreneurship, and job candidates.
