House Commerce discusses business innovation, entrepreneurship at Temple University

In their last week before heading back to the Capitol for fall session, members of the House Commerce Committee went back to school. Legislators joined program leaders and professors at Temple University’s Fox School of Business to find out about the school’s efforts to promote new businesses and entrepreneurs.
 
Presentations, a facilities tour, and lunch helped educate committee members about the programs available through Temple’s business school and how they help students and community members start their own companies. Not only do these start-ups help create jobs and return tax revenue to the state, they tackle social problems and positively impact their neighborhoods and cities.

Philly reforms bail policies, questions Temple expansion

Philadelphia City Council passed eight bills during their public session Thursday. They also withdrew a proposal that drew significant community criticism.

Most of the bills passed affect residential construction or improving properties in certain areas of the city.
