Commonwealth Court sides with Pittsburgh over police salary battle

The Commonwealth Court ruled this week that the Pittsburgh police union union's judicial request for an officer wage increase should be started at the Court of Common Pleas, instead of at the appellate level.  


The seven judge panel heard the case in Pittsburgh in early April after talks between the city and the Fraternal Order of Police Fort Pitt Lodge No. 1 to negotiate a contract for officers broke down, sending the dispute into binding arbitration.
