Here are the highlights from news conferences, rallies, and advocacy days held in the Capitol today:

  •  Faith leaders from across the state gathered in the Main Rotunda to urge lawmakers to enact a MORALtorium on new hydraulic fracturing wells and development of related infrastructure, provide full funding for examination of existing wells and cleanup of contaminated wells, support renewable energy and the jobs that come with it and support transition and retraining of workers for the renewable energy sector.
  • Rep. Jake Wheatley (D-Allegheny) hosted a press conference to address Minority, Women & Disadvantaged Business Owners (MWDBE). Rep. Wheatley explained that he has hosted an annual roundtable and press conference since 2009 after it was found that the state had been doing “a terrible job” supporting and growing MWDBE companies.
